Rising Tide is an excellent fitness facility. It is clean, modern, and well equipped. There is plenty of training space , a spacious room for classes , and a great selection of cardio equipment and free weights, as well as machines. If you’re a tire flipper there is an outdoor training area too ! The on site child care is a clean, bright, and fun space for the kiddos with a wonderful staff member in the room at all times. The gym has an excellent coffee shop attached, for a quick pick me up. No high pressure sales nonsense , just honest sensible pricing. The staff are kind and responsive, and the extra health precautions are evident and in use daily. If you are looking for a great gym in Hampstead, you can’t go wrong here !

I love Rising Tide Fitness! The facility is well maintained and extremely clean. They offer all kinds of classes and have a great variety of equipment, free weights, machines, etc. The staff is welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful and the overall atmosphere is nonjudgmental. The owner Mike Taranto trains me and both of my daughters. My younger daughter plays soccer and he knows exactly how hard to push her to get to the next level while protecting her from injury. He is attentive and continually stresses the importance of good form and technique. He has pushed me to do hard things of which I didn’t know I was capable. He is the perfect blend of encouragement, professionalism, and toughness that are marks of a great trainer.

I absolutely love this gym! Rising Tide has such a friendly and inviting atmosphere! Everything is so clean& organized! Caitlyn ( who works in the childcare area) is the best EVER! Absolute BEST gym! I have been a member since the early days and they just keep getting better. Mike and team provide a clean, convenient, safe and well equipped gym for all levels of athletes, whether seasoned veteran or day one beginner, you will feel welcome. In addition to the “gym”, Rising Tide also offers a cozy coffee shop/smoothie bar, and class studio. Class offerings vary from TRX, Yoga, HIIT, etc. 24-hour access is a bonus!

Gordan Rock

Gordon began his fitness journey in 1989 when he joined the Air Force to become a firefighter. Physical demands were high, to say the least. While there was a weight room and a few pieces of cardio equipment, there was no one truly knowledgeable about proper form, much less designing a real training program. Overuse injuries were commonplace. Left to his own devices,he read every fitness book that was available, gaining a good foundation of knowledge. While stationed in Italy, he became an avid cyclist. Leaving the military for civilian life, he settled in South Carolina where he continued his athletic endeavors in running, paddling, and mountain bike racing. On a day trip to Wilmington, he discovered surfing and knew that this was the place for him! He moved here in 2004, obtained his Coastal and surf kayaking instructor certification, becoming aninstructor and tour guide,. In 2010 stand up paddling piqued his interest. He took a lot of clinics and private lessons, leading to racing and SUP surfing, which he fell in love with! The quest for land based cross training led him to the kettlebell and into the gym. He continued his educational journey and became a Certified Personal Trainer, and Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. After years of training and practice, Gordon became a Russian Kettlebell Challenge certified instructor. Over the years he has found that a person doesn’t need to train harder to succeed, they need to train smarter. As 50 is now upon him, Gordon has learned to prioritize smart programming, and strategically placed, functional movements that are applicable to everyday life. A motto he goes by is, ‘A workout should give you more than it takes out of you’. Less wasted time in the gym, means more time for family and hobbies. That leads us to today, where at Rising Tide Fitness, he trains people of all abilities with a wide variety of goals, whether it be to lose a few pounds, find a life balance between work/family and health, or more lofty goals that require a larger commitment.

I’m Sarah! I am the owner and head coach of Nowa Nutrition. I currently work full time as a Crime Scene Technician in Wilmington. Over 10 years ago, I started my fitness and nutrition journey. Working in a stressful field, weight training became my stress relief. I’ve had my ups and downs, tried just about every diet under the sun. I’ve had to restore both my gut health and hormone balance during different times in my life. HOLD POLICY

Members may put their membership on Hold, for up to three calendar months per calendar year, unless Military TAD/TDY orders or job obligations. Military members must provide at a minimum a Letter from there command Stating the members Name and Dates that the members will be on TAD/TDY. College Students that Physically go to school outside the local area (30 minute radius) may put there membership on hold until the semester is finish. Notice of Hold, the member must go on Rising Tide Fitness Website to select "Membership Management" to request for there membership to be put on hold. Members will not be billed for months on Hold, But will be billed the Annual Maintenance fee in the month of May. Billing will resume automatically upon end of Hold. Yearly Members will have current year extended by the number Of months on Hold.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancelation request must be received by Rising Tide Fitness 30 days prior to renewal date. If Rising Tide Fitness is unable to collect your monthly dues for any reason "will be charged without further notice to you. If your monthly dues payments are delinquent for more than 5 days your membership maybe suspended until late fees are paid and membership is up to date. Late fees can be up to $50.00 for every month being delinquent. The undersigned agrees to make payments on this membership at the agreed time regardless of the amount he/she uses the gym. If Rising Tide Fitness cannot deduct your monthly dues from your account, Rising Tide Fitness may without notice to you increase a subsequent deduction for the dues previously uncollected. If the uncollected dues were caused by insufficient credit (credit card account), a service charge will be added. I understand that this membership agreement cannot be cancelled with the exception of: The member becomes significantly physically or mentally disabled with reasonable evidence of illness including doctor's letter. The member may also cancel if he/she moves their residence more than" 30 miles radius away from training facility by providing proof of move ( Utility bill of new address, new mortgage document, etc.). You can also pay a Cancellation fee of $250.00 to end your agreement with Rising Tide Fitness at any time to release you from 12 month minimum agreement. Consumers Right to Cancellation: You may cancel this contract without any penalty or further obligation by requesting a cancellation through Rising Tide Fitness website within three (3) days of the initial sign-up.
